Springs are a critical component of mechanical dock leveler operation because they are used to position the dock leveler for loading and unloading trucks and for storage when the dock leveler is not in use. Because they are continually in use and they require frequent adjustment during very hot and very cold weather, springs are replaced more often than any other part on mechanical dock levelers. This spring is a large lip extension spring for a Serco mechanical dock lifter.
