Springs are intrinsically involved in how mechanical dock levelers work. Springs are constantly in use when the dock leveler is operated, so they get more wear and tear than most other mechanical dock leveler parts. Because springs are highly sensitive to weather fluctuations, they require more frequent adjustment when weather is extremely hot or extremely cold. This spring is a lip lifter spring for a Serco mechanical dock leveler.
